Peter Fedofsky

It's Peter!

Originally hailing from Brooklyn, NY, Peter Fedofsky has spent equal portions of his life in three very distinct areas of the country. After spending a decade in New York, he spent the next decade around Chicago, and finally settled into life out West in Seattle, Washington. For all this geographical diversity, it comes as a surprise that he would be most at home somewhere in England. So heavy is his obsession with the formative Brit-pop of acts like The Beatles, The Zombies, and The Kinks, that he seems out of step with the last 20 years of music and the regions he has called home. To redeem his American roots, he often veers into the territory of Brian Wilson, a fact that he admits to readily. In a profile of Fedofsky on NPR’s Second Stage program, Robin Hilton points to the fact that his music “draw(s) heavily on the melodies and harmonies of the Beatles, the Beach Boys, ELO and Buddy Holly.” Bob Boilen echoed the statement in another profile of him on NPR’s All Songs Considered.

Peter currently plays piano and contributes songs to Curtains For You, a Seattle-based 5 piece.
