"Tear It Down" by Carpentron

from the album Nascence and Child

Chris Torgersen: just about everything
John LaSala: mixing and a bit of post-production

"'Tear It Down' addresses the need to destroy in order to pave the way for creation. It presents four characters who find themselves caught in frustrating life cycles that they need to dismantle their worlds in order to build their lives differently. By beginning anew, we learn from the mistakes of our past." —Chris Torgersen

Chris thanks John LaSala for help with production and mixing.

Doesn't have a lot to say, you know,
But she's got a very pretty glow,
So she has her own TV show.

But the wrinkles on her sagging face
Mean that someone soon will take her place -
Another member of the master race.

Tear it down
Tear it down
Tear it all down and try again.

Got a lot of work to do, you see,
But I'm running out of energy.
Got a pill that can replenish me.
And if I keep on pushing I can make it.

This is not the end.
I can build again.
I can learn from all these dead ends,
And apply the lessons then.
But first…

Tear it down
Tear it down
Tear it all down and try again.

He's always trying to negotiate
To see if he can get a better rate,
But his rising debt will not abate.

While on the desk of some big exec
Who makes his bucks in military tech,
There lies a cunningly inflated check.

Tear it down
Tear it down
Tear it all down and try again.

A sky of blue,
A world anew–
I can have another chance
To see my promise through.

Torn apart,
It's another start
I can take it to a place
The world has yet to chart.

So it begins.
